With QuickPass, you can share with us many of the details we need for your rental at a time that suits you. That way we can start preparing your rental agreement before you arrive for collection.
You can register for QuickPass from the moment you’ve booked your car. You just need your driving licence and a payment card to hand.
If you don’t have that info, you can register for QuickPass right up until you pick up your rental vehicle.

However, if your flight number is present in your booking, we'll be aware of any delay to your flight and will endeavour to keep the vehicle for you. It's imperative you provide your flight number when you book, otherwise we have no way of knowing if your flight is delayed.

Pets are allowed in our vehicles with prior agreement from the store you intend to hire from. However, if a vehicle is returned with a messy interior beyond normal levels of wear and tear, it will need valeting so a cleaning charge will be added. This charge varies by location. Your hire station will give you the exact figure or call our reservations team for more information.

To hire a car in Denmark, you need to be at least 19 years of age at the moment of collecting the vehicle and have held a driving licence for at least one year. A higher minimum age limit may apply to certain vehicles.
If you or your additional drivers are under the age of 25, you'll need to pay an extra fee per day. The amount depends on where you hire a car, because the law and insurance terms vary between countries, but you can expect it to be around 100 DKK per day per driver. If the location charges a premium fee, it could cost more. The minimum age you can hire a car also varies from country to country. Under the age of 25, you can hire cars from Group A, Group B, Group C, Group E, and Group I for example. Check out our fleet to find further information about specific categories.
There is currently no age maximum, so long as you have had a full, valid, licence for at least 1 year. Check the location specific terms and conditions for the country you are renting for more information on age requirements.

If you cannot find your rental car, which can happen especially at major train stations and airports, please ask for assistance from our rental agency staff. You can reach them personally at the counter on site or by phone using the number provided on your rental agreement.
We offer many cars in different styles and sizes, so you can hire the perfect model for your journey. These cars belong to various groups, such as Group A or Group J.
Ordering cars into groups helps us provide a premium service, because there is never any confusion over the car you are hiring and whether you're eligible to drive it. Sometimes you're only eligible to hire cars from certain groups, based on your age or driving licence. The car groups also help you understand useful information, such as the amount you pay (the excess) if you're involved in an accident, which can vary from group to group.

After the booking process is complete, we usually confirm your reservation right away by email. If you receive the confirmation e-mail simply take it with you in digital or printed form when you go and collect your hire vehicle. While we try to provide our service to everyone who books a vehicle, there may be circumstances where we cannot give you a vehicle. Some of these scenarios are below:
- If you did not satisfy the driving licence requirements: A valid driving licence must be provided. An international driving licence or an official English translation, by notary, of the driving licence must be provided if the driving licence was issued in a non-roman alphabet. Additionally, the driver must have held the licence for a minimum of one year, evidence is required to be provided to confirm this minimum duration. Please note that these minimum requirements could be longer for some of our special vehicles, such as our Prestige vehicles.
- If you did not satisfy the identification/security check: you must provide the following documents: The payment card used to make the reservation (plus an additional card is required for certain vehicles), a photographic ID issued within the last 10 years, passports, photographic driving licences, national identity cards and government issued certificates are accepted, proof of address, a recent utility bill or bank statement (driving licences are not accepted as proof of address).
- If you did not pass the DVLA's licence sharing check (UK)
- If you had Insufficient funds for the pre-authorisation transaction to be processed
- If you were not within the required age range for the vehicle type
- If you have any unspent driving convictions
- If you did not show up at the rental location to collect the vehicle per your reservation details
- If you refuse to take the vehicle provided and would not accept a replacement vehicle.

An ACTO (Avis Company Travel Order) is a special voucher businesses give to staff so they can hire a vehicle with us. Simply show your ACTO, driving licence and company ID when you collect your hire vehicle and we’ll invoice your company directly. These vouchers can’t be used for online bookings.
If you would like to use these vouchers at work, simply set up an Avis corporate account.

We offer you a couple of ways to pay to make it easy. You can pay online now or later when you collect your vehicle. The choice is yours. If you choose to pay online now, you’ll pay the cost of your booking up front with a discounted price. Some extras can only be paid for at the counter. We’ll let you know which ones when you book; they will still be reserved for you. When you collect your vehicle, you’ll need to present the card used for your online payment, we’ll dip/swipe your card to gain authorisation but won’t take any payment until you return your vehicle. If you’d rather not pay online now, you can pay at the hire station. When you collect your vehicle, we’ll dip/swipe your card to gain authorisation for the full hire cost (including extras) but won’t take payment until you return your vehicle. Paying now will cost you less than paying later.

Of course, you can take your hire car to a festival. However, as you are responsible for the vehicle during the rental period you will be liable if, for example, the car gets stuck in a field. We understand it can be frustrating when you're surprised with extra costs. That's why we always try to be upfront about what you pay. Your booking typically includes the basic Collision Damage Waiver (vehicle damage cover), basic vehicle theft cover, tax, location charges and, depending on the location car and rate, unlimited mileage. But unless you let us know, it does not include young driver charges, additional driver charges, fuel, upgraded cover, or optional extras such as additional equipment or out-of-hours services. - Careless, reckless or dangerous driving
- Driving or attempting to drive whilst under the influence of drink or drugs
- Using a vehicle uninsured against third party risks

- Been disqualified (or anything similar) in the last 10 years
- If you have 2 or more unspent convictions for offences not listed above, your rental will be refused

Vehicles from Denmark can be driven in other countries depending on the make and model of the hire car. Denmark does not allow cars to be driven in Eastern European countries and Great Britain only in the countries mentioned on www.avis.dk. Very few insurance policies cover you to drive a hire car. Even if you can provide evidence that it does, unfortunately we won’t be able to reduce the amount you pay. This is because the rental agreement is between you and us, not us and your insurance company. Damage cover is included as standard with your rental. At the start of your rental, we will ask your card issuer to hold a sum of money for us. This is a temporary hold against the funds you have available on that card. We do not charge your card and no money is taken from your account. Your card issuer will usually present this authorisation hold as a pending transaction that reduces the money you have available to spend. Further detail of this authorisation hold (also referred to as a pre-authorisation) is set out in the Location Specific Terms and Conditions for the country in which you are renting.
In summary, the authorisation hold will be for the estimated cost of your rental less any amount that you have paid in advance, plus 100$ converted to Danish Krone (for rentals in Denmark). When you complete your rental and return the vehicle, we will charge your card and the authorisation hold will be released by your card issuer. Depending on your card issuer, it can take up to 28 days before this is reflected in your account balance. As the authorisation hold has never been charged, the return of the funds will not be shown on your card statement. In case of any queries about the release of the authorisation hold, please contact your card issuer. Please note that even though the hold is not an actual charge, it will temporarily reduce the available balance on your payment card.

We know that our customers hire vehicles for many different reasons, and have many different refueling needs. For your convenience, we offer 4 different refueling options:
– Bring Back Full If you bring the vehicle back full, or at the same level as the vehicle was picked up at, there won't be any charge. If there happens to be any missing fuel at the start, and it isn't the same as your rental agreement, please let one of our staff know or take a picture if you are in a hurry.
– Fuel Up Front This option allows you to purchase a full tank of fuel at a lower price per litre than our Pay on Return rates. You pay one flat fee for any amount of fuel, so try to return it as close to empty as you can to get the best value. If the vehicle is returned full, we do not charge you for Fuel Up Front.
– EZ Fuel If you drive for 75 miles (120 km) or less you can pre-pay a flat fee and we will take care of refuelling. If you choose to refuel yourself, please keep the receipt and present it when you return the vehicle.

Yes. You can pay using Visa and MasterCard debit cards. There are a few exceptions: One credit card and one debit card may be required at the counter for higher-value vehicles. The Maestro card is only accepted in Germany. PREPAID cards are accepted online however they are not accepted at the counter which means a non-PREPAID card must be shown at the rental station (together with the PREPAID card). A PREPAID card can be used to pay for the rental at the end of the vehicle hire. Please refer to our location specific terms and conditions for additional information on payment options. Remember, the name on the card must match the driving licence of the main driver. Someone else can't pay on your behalf. And don't forget to bring your payment card when you collect your rental.

We understand plans can change or you might change your mind. Whether you want to upgrade your vehicle or add extra comforts, it’s effortless updating your booking.
Simply go manage your booking, contact us, or use our app. You won’t be charged for any updates, but, if you upgrade with higher value services you will pay the difference. We will inform you of any change in the price before making the change. If you downgrade, we unfortunately can’t repay the difference so please choose carefully. The difference can however be used at the counter to reduce costs of additional services and products.

We make the booking process as seamless as possible for you. You can create a booking using our app, or via our website, following the simple steps.
On the home page of our website you will see the first booking step. Simply enter where, when and what date you’d like to pick up and return the vehicle.
Next, you choose your vehicle category. The base price will appear to give you an idea of what you can expect to pay for your rental. This price does not include any of our additional products or services.
The third step is to choose your coverage package.
The last step is to choose any additional extras you would like.
Once you’ve completed these steps, confirm your booking details and enter in your information. You can also sign up with Avis Preferred at this step of the booking process.

When you arrive at Heathrow Airport (excluding Terminal 5) and you have collected your luggage from the luggage reclaim we would ask that you call ahead for a shuttle bus and it will depart from our office to collect you from the terminal you arrived at and take you to our Avis Budget office at the airport. It can take approximately 10 to 15 minutes for the shuttle bus to reach the terminal you arrived at, dependent upon road traffic, hence the request to call in advance due to the current situation and environment. Our buses do run on a schedule to each terminal 7 days a week between the times of 5:30am to 11:30pm daily, but by calling ahead we will be aware of your arrival. The number to call is 0208 754 7150.
We offer a range of products and services to enhance your journey. If you're booking online you can reserve extras including child seats, Mobile Wi-Fi, GPS, luggage racks and snow chains for most European journeys. Some extras can only be paid for over the counter. Don't worry if you book online they will still be reserved for you. Just pay for them when you collect your vehicle. In certain countries such as the US, you can only reserve extras over the counter. Remember to plan ahead. Depending where you hire, we'll need 72 hours' notice if you book online. If it's less than 72 hours before your journey, please contact us at the location.

Dispute resolution
We are a member of the British Vehicle Rental & Leasing Association (BVRLA). If you make a complaint and are unhappy with our final response you can refer your dispute to the relevant conciliation service. These organisations independently review disputes with no additional cost to you.
RSN is our Roadside Safety Net product. In addition to the standard breakdown assistance included with your rental, our Roadside Assistance Plus (or Premium Roadside Assistance) service covers any non-mechanical issue you may face. This product removes ancillary costs that may be associated with a vehicle breakdown, such as jump starts or towing fees. When selected, RSN will be included on your signed rental agreement at the beginning of your rental. It will be charged at the end of the rental along with any outstanding rental charges.
